いかん、気になって仕事にならない。
amazonの中身を見れるサービスを使ってみた。
「spare」かと思ったが、出てこない。
明らかにテナーのセリフであるので、テナーという言葉で検索して、物語の最後の方を読んでみたが、見当たらない。
いかん！メモるだけメモって、仕事に戻らねば．．．
いや、見つけた！これだ！

ということで、「余備の人間」とは"spared"の訳語ということになるわけだが．．．

語感としては、「備える」ということもあるが、形容詞というよりも動詞形の受身なので「手放された」という感じではないだろうか？
ま、「それがなにか？」(Does it make any difference?)って感じ。
